John Garuk
Alias: Weapon, ‘Garuk the Wildspeaker’
Age: 24
Appearance:
Hair: Dark brown, tied into a ponytail and wrapped around his head.
Eyes: Forest green.
Skin: He’s often seen in poor lighting, but he’s a bit tan, as if he hasn’t bothered to be blocked from sunlight.
Apparel: Fighting, he has a set of full body armor, designed to be flexible enough not to hinder his movement and protective enough to give him the slightest of edges; a belt to carry certain provisions; a broadsword on his back plus two thinner blades on his sides. Casually, he wears simple t shirt and jeans, a metal wristband on both wrists, a shell necklace and a metal plate strapped to his left arm, shielding the inside of the arm.
Height: 6’ 6’’
Weight: 185 lbs.
Tools & abilities:
John has an ability that was gained through certain circumstances enacted long ago in his life; he can effectively turn off the majority of his brain, including the part that filters out the senses. When he starts this, he loses all intelligent speech and thought, loses touch of his existence and loses the ability of complicated mechanisms, such as fire-arms. What he gains, is supremely heightened senses on all accounts plus reflexes beyond anyone’s ability, because he doesn’t think about his actions; purely reflex and instinct.
Apart from the spotlight of his abilities, he also has three swords: Two thin, one-handed swords and a thicker, more powerful two-handed one. His belt contains water, basic foods, home-made looking rope, flint and a pod wielded to his belt. The pod contains schematics for creating a type of explosive called a ‘blue bomb’; a grenade that destroys all organic life within the blast, but otherwise leaving the rest untouched. The bomb is very hard to make, beyond John’s ability.
Strengths:
John’s main strength is the obvious; masterful reflexes and senses under the right circumstances. He is also rather muscular and lean due to reasons he doesn’t speak of, though it’s no doubt that it’s from his time living in forests and the like when his brain is shut down.
Weaknesses:
John’s senses, while his brain is fully functioning, are rather dim when compared to someone else; his sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch are all diminished. While his brain is off however, he gains a new weakness; he can’t turn his brain back on without being knocked out first. As in, he’s locked into the wild state until he falls asleep or goes unconscious.
Personality:
John loves the wild and the animals within it. He believes strongly enough in ‘survival of the fittest’, which, because of that he comes off rather cruel to most people, though he doesn’t see it as that.
Likes:
Nature, animals, living without his brain on.
Dislikes:
Zoos, cities in general (though he realizes the need in some cases.), technology, people who consider him a ‘wild speaker’ (which admittedly, is a very small group of mtg fans.).
History:
John, admittedly, can’t say anything about his life whether he wanted to or not. He remembers everything, though certain people have given him a new identity. What he can say now, is that he was once recruited by an odd group of people who he had run into in the Congo, his current place of residence, saying they needed him for his abilities. He refused, and beat them to a pulp later. However they weren’t quite alone; they sent what they called a ‘security system’ to apprehend him. They succeeded, and he did what they wished, for a time. They gave him a new identity; John Garuk wasn’t even his name, and actually, garuk just happened to be similar to the grunt he made when he killed the first group. Eventually the odd group dismissed everyone within their walls, and he was dropped back into the Congo. He’s travelled since, not wishing to get into that again, and lives a bit less reclusive than recently.
Alignment:
He’s neutral really, but for the sake of this rp, let’s swing him over to good. He was evil once.
Audio:
Accent: His accent has developed into a bland monotone for the most part, but a hint of Italian can be heard.
Languages known: English; some Italian; certain African dialects, but only a bit.
Current Status of Father: Confidential, though presumed dead.
Current Status of Mother: Confidential, though resumed dead.
